RIPIA -New Zealand. - Auckland is the largest city in NZ. Drive North 181 km and you arrive at Dargaville - the Kumura (Sweet potatoe) capital of the world. Driving through the main street of town you will come to a compulsory stop. Take a left turn - over a small bridge - 500 metres ahead turn right on to state Highway 12 that leads to the Waipoua Forest and then take the first road on the left. Follow this Road and you will see signage to Pouto and you will be travelling along the Pouto Road. This Road will also take you to Glinks Gully. 7 kilometres later and you will pass the Aratapu Hotel on the left. 1 km past the pub you climb a hill entering the town of Te Kopuru. Follow the road through the township around a couple of bends - down a hill. Still on Pouto Rd - drive 7 minutes on the straight flat road - passing the Tatarariki Tennis Club and Hall on the left. You climb a hill and go past Coles Rd on your right and 500 metres on the left is Ripia Marae, 1627 Pouto Road, Ripia. Immediately opposite is the Ripia Church and Urupas (burial sites - cemetry).
